How to Deal with Stress with Hypnosis
February 20, 2010 – 10:41 amThe two important approaches when it comes to dealing with a stress complaint in a hypnotherapy session with a client. There are two main approaches that should be used to help clients deal with stress in a hypnotherapeutic session since stress is caused by two ways. Stress that is caused by means of the environment, or by forces outside of the person, and the other being through the individuals interpretation or responses to experiences or outside influences.
Ego strengthening – This method is important and necessary but in the majority of cases it only deals with the symptoms of stress and not the actual causes of it. If by the use of ego strengthening the stresses are cured or fixed then it would highlight the certainty that the external influences that did form the original stress are largely minor or scanty. If upon the other hand the use of ego strengthening only succeeds to bring short term gains it may highlight the fact that the client has a self image problem. Someone with a self image problem can he helped by using ego strengthening suggestions in a hypnosis session such as “in every way in every day, you are getting better and better at being calmer”
Stress Management – Regardless of whether ego strengthening practices have been used in the hypnosis, most people who suffer stress need to determine ways in which the stress can be limited and removed. In most cases itsession difficult to remove oneself from the causes of stress but talking by a client to help them limit their exposure to the stress can have positive results. For example, one that suffers from stress due to over exposure to a working environment may be helped by decreasing their working hours and finding ways in which to enjoy themselves through participating in hobbies and the like.
