You better watch out – and stay safe

One of the joys of working at a daily newspaper during the holiday season is getting to partake — even if just vicariously — in all the events happening in the community.

The flip side is that journalists also hear about Christmas trees catching fire, holiday decorators falling off ladders and other seasonal mishaps that come with cold weather. So it’s a good time to be reminded of the safety factors that are part of the festivities.
