Hey everybody. Jedd here. One of my good friends in Grip Sport, Brent Barbe, recently told me that he would be traveling to Iceland in the near future to tackle the famous Husafell Stone. I thought that this sounded incredible, and asked him to document his training for the Diesel site, which he agreed to do.

I’ve known Brent since 2006 and since then, he has continued to improve at Grip each and every year. Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. WASHINGTON, Sept. 10, 2010 – A silent killer is rapidly infiltrating the military, claiming lives at an alarming rate each year.

It does not discriminate, taking aim at the young and old, male and female — from the battle-hardened soldier to the new recruit.

Military suicides have more than doubled in the Army, exceeding the national average over the past five years, and leaders are redoubling efforts to figure out why.

Fitness Review: Beach Body Insanity DVD Workout Program

Just what are you getting yourself into if you sign up for a workout program that calls itself “Insanity”? Here’s what I think you should know, based on my review of the Insanity program.

Insanity is a 60-day home-based workout video program designed by the company Beach Body, which also produces other popular workout DVDs such as P90X, Hip Hop Abs, Power 90, and Slim in 6.

Sold online and by infomercial, the program costs $120 and includes 10 workout DVDs, a nutrition plan, and a workout calendar to track your process.

Pre-Run Stretch May Reduce Endurance

Some runners swear by their pre-run stretch as a sure-fire way to run better and stronger and reduce their risk of injury in the process.

But according to a new study, distance runners who stretch before a run may not perform as well and may spend more energy than runners who skip the stretch.

”Overall, I don’t think it’s worth it to stretch before a run,” researcher Jacob M. Wilson, PhD, assistant professor of exercise science and sport studies at the University of Tampa, tells WebMD. “
