How to Increase Productivity: Stop Working, Go to the Gym

August 11, 2010 – 3:04 pm

I know some of you out there work 60, 70, 80 hour weeks. I know some of you also work 14,16,18 hour days. Hell, I’ve put in 36 hours straight writing computer code day and night to meet a deadline before. We all do it: we work too much!

Experts are finding out now that the best way to increase productivity, is to work less. That’s right, people who work 35-40 hours a week get the most out of their time. After the first 40 hours efficiency, speed, and quality all begin to deteriorate.

Good Bye and Good Luck

August 11, 2010 – 2:53 pm

Dr. Susan Rudders and her research team studied emergency room visits due to allergic reactions at Children’s Hospital Boston from 2001 until 2006. The study, which involved 1,255 children, showed that visits had more than doubled and had worsened – many more children were experiencing anaphylaxis.

Last week, I put up a post on Medley Training for Combat Athletes. You can check it out here if you missed it = > Training with Medleys for Combat Athletes.

Medley Training is great for all athletes because Medleys force you to be able to execute strength for extended period times and in many different ways. The result is improved conditioning where you are able to make bigger hits and continue to fight for longer periods of time whether on the field or the mat.

In the following video, we perform Medleys involving many different implements that require full body strength.
